Murray's 20 magical moments

About Murray Walker

old_personMurray Walker commented on Formula 1 from 1949 up until his retirement in 2001 - in fact it wasn't even called Formula 1 when he first started!

As well as covering most F1 races he has also done commentary for many other types of motorsport for the BBC including BTCC and Rallycross.

He is a motorsports enthusiast. He is also prone to spouting rubbish in the heat of the moment in spite of his vast experience of commentating for Grand Prix racing. According to those who've met him, he's a nice bloke too.

In 1996 the BBC lost the F1 contract to ITV. But they decided to keep him on and he was teamed up with Martin Brundle, where they instantly formed a great partnership.

The duo not only broadcasted to the UK, but also to Australia, Canada, India, South Africa and many other countries.

The 2001 United States Grand Prix was Murray Walkers final commentary. A truly sad moment for all his fans. We wish him well in his retirement and would just like to say. THANK YOU
So without further ado -- here are some of the quotes!
